Do you know what the main function of the car sunroof curtains is? Its most significant function actually lies in the summer. Just think about it. When driving in summer, what is the greatest fear? It is the intense sunlight shining directly onto the sunroof of the car, causing the driver’s head to become extremely hot. The children in the back seat then have to squint to avoid the strong light – even with the air conditioning, it cannot alleviate this “small oven on the top of the head” situation. In fact, the sunroof has its advantages, such as good transparency, but the lack of a sunshade is also a major drawback.
The sunroof shade looks simple, but there are many tricks to it: the track needs to be smooth, and the opening and closing should not be stuck; the fabric must be dense, as ordinary window curtains cannot block ultraviolet rays; the frame fasteners need to be precise, otherwise it will make a loud noise when moving. Once a good sunshade is pulled, the interior temperature drops by 5°C or more, and the strong light is filtered into soft light, making it comfortable for the elderly and children to sit in.
Houming has also figured out the details of the sunroof glass and the sunshade. Now, sunshade curtains for sunroofs can be matched with mainstream vehicles – such as AUDI/BMW/BENZ/Hyundai Tucson/Sedona, Kia Sorento, and Jeep Compass, which are common models, are available in stock. Special sizes can also be customized according to the curvature of the glass. The fabric used is thick blackout velvet, and the frame is our specialty – precise injection molding. It clicks into the track with a “click” and is securely in place without being loose or shaky.
Question: Will installing this affect the operation of the skylight?
Answer: No, it won’t. The curtain track is placed inside the skylight in an inner groove, and when it’s retracted, it’s just a thin layer. The skylight can be opened or closed as needed. We deliberately left some safety margin, so it won’t collide with the motor.
Question: Is the shading effect really that good?
Answer: To be honest, when it’s pulled up, the interior of the car becomes noticeably darker, but it’s not completely dark (completely dark would actually affect driving safety). UV rays are basically blocked, and your hands won’t feel hot when touching the glass in summer. That’s sufficient. If you expect it to function as sunglasses, then you’d need to replace it with silver-coated glass – that’s a different matter.
Question: Do you have older models? For example, the 2009 ix35?
Answer: Yes. We have a full stock of older models of Korean cars. The ix35 and older Tucson models are among those that are frequently replaced and have molds available. Please send the model and year, and I’ll check the inventory. If there’s any, I’ll deliver it on the same day.
